A Series is a collection of episodes that belong to the same story. Series are used for ongoing or serialized content, where new episodes are released over time.
Creating a Series allows readers to follow your story, receive updates when new episodes are published, and discover your work on the platform.
If you want to publish a standalone comic instead, you can also publish it as a One-Shot (explained below).
Sumugi supports two main ways to publish your work.
Series
Use a Series when you want to publish:
Readers can follow a Series and return for future episodes.
One-Shot
A One-Shot is a standalone comic that is not part of a larger series.
This format works well for:
One-Shots appear in the Stories feed rather than inside a Series.
Follow these steps to create your first Series.
You can update these details later as your project evolves.
Episodes are created by exporting a completed Editor File and adding it to your Series.
You can continue adding episodes over time as you create more content.
Once your episode is ready:
You can also save your series or episodes as Drafts while you continue working.
Start small!
Your first episode doesn’t need to be long. Many creators begin with a short introduction or a small scene.
Consistency matters
Readers are more likely to follow a series that updates regularly, even if the episodes are short.
Use a clear cover and description
Your series cover and description help readers decide whether to start your story.
One-Shots are standalone stories that live in their own feed on Sumugi. They’re ideal for short stories, experiments, or self-contained comics that don’t require a full series.
