Storyboarder has a new name.

When we started, "Storyboarder" made sense. But the platform has grown into something bigger than storyboarding — it's a place to create, share, and read comics. The name needed to catch up with what we've actually become.

Sumugi comes from tsumugi, a Japanese handwoven silk fabric where individual threads are spun together into something whole. It felt like the right fit for what people build here every day.

What's changing

Just the name. You'll see Sumugi by Storyboarder around the platform while we transition, and we'll be moving to sumugi.com in the coming weeks. Your projects, your account, and your published comics are all staying right where you left them, and old links will redirect automatically.
